1st Infantry Regiment

The 1st Infantry Regiment draws its lineage from a distinguished line of post Revolutionary War Infantry Regiments and is credited with thirty-nine campaign streamers.
1st Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment's mission is to support the United States Military Academy and to furnish the enlisted garrison for West Point and Stewart Army Subpost.
2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment's mission is to deploy worldwide, secure a lodgment, and conduct combat operations in support of U.S. national interests.

2nd Infantry Regiment

It has served the United States for more than two hundred years. It is the 3d oldest regiment in the US Army with a Lineage date of 1808 and a history extending back to 1791. At present the regiment has 65 streamers on its colors.

3rd Infantry Regiment

It currently has three active battalions, and is readily identified by its nickname, The Old Guard, as well as Escort to the President. The regimental motto is Noli Me Tangere (from Latin: - Touch me Not). The regiment is a major unit of the Military District of Washington (MDW).
The regiment is the oldest active unit of infantry in the Army, having been first organized as the First American Regiment in 1784.

  1. The "old Guard" or 3rd Inf Reg is also responsible for the protecting of fallen soldiers. i.e. Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier... This is why all members of the "Old Guard" wear the blue tab with white lettering "Honor Guard."
